Frieze Art Fair
10 May 2012 by
RxArt took a field trip out to Randall's Island for the New York Frieze Art Fair. With 180 participating galleries, a sculpture park, and a D.A.P book shop, there was a lot to see. Though we missed Mark Ruffalo and Gavin Brown cooking up sausages on the opening day, we had a great time strolling through the fair and seeing all it had to offer (and we spotted Natalie Portman with baby in tow). Exhibited were some of our favorite artists and collaborators, as well as many others we hope to work with in the future. See photos below for more!

Ryan McGinley at Team Gallery
04 May 2012 by
On Wednesday evening Ryan McGinley showcased his newest work, Animals and Grids, at both Team Gallery locations. Animals featured nude studio portraits of friends and models with their animal of choice, leading to humorous, beautiful, occasionally painful, and generally unpredictable results. Grids, a much more emotional and intimate-feeling body of work, focuses on close-up portraits of young fans at concerts.
Atlas Sound played a brief but fun set on the rooftop of the Wooster Street location, which was shut down but then moved into the gallery. See below for more photos and video!

Was. Epic.
17 November 2010 by

In a word, last night’s bash in honor of our 10th birthday was epic—relive the magic through these photos!
Our event designers and producers, Cait&Jules, transformed the Art Directors Club into a sparkling oasis that glowed with celebratory hues of red and gold while Callahan Catering served bite-sized edible works of art (with mini one-shot beverages as the perfect compliment). Guests split their time bidding on a noteworthy array of contemporary pieces, admiring the spinning abilities of our guest DJs, and partaking in what was the most exhilarating live auction New York has ever seen (thanks to the energy and enthusiasm of auction-world-legend Simon de Pury)! And the icing on our proverbial 10th Anniversary cake? The arrival, albeit late, of James Franco, who so studiously finished his evening class at Yale and traveled all the way from New Haven to support our cause.
In summary, we couldn’t be more proud of the last decade and more importantly, we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who had a hand in the growth and success of RxArt. Thank you for a truly unforgettable night!
