About Our Projects

RxArt installations transform otherwise sterile environments, which are often frightening and alienating to patients, to more comforting, meditative and positive environments, by offering patients thoughtful diversion from their hospitalization. Our installations also help to relieve the stress experienced by doctors, nurses and staff. RxArt believes that projectic excellence should not be compromised while working in a healthcare context and the staff and patients at our partner institutions are delighted with our projects reporting that they have made real and crucial contributions to healing environments.

RxArt takes an active role in considering the most appropriate artwork for specific healthcare environments. We work with healthcare staff and art professionals from some of the country's top museums to consider the most appropriate artwork for specific environments. Artwork may be commissioned or we may negotiate the purchase of outstanding existing pieces. RxArt's collection contains works by artists who are household names and whose artworks are held in museums worldwide including Jeff Koons, William Wegman, Sol LeWitt, Mary Heilmann, and Frank Stella. In addition, we publish a coloring book, Between the Lines, which we distribute to children in our partner healthcare facilities. Between the Lines, Volume I and Volume II are also available for purchase on our Store page. Proceeds from all sales benefit future RxArt projects.
