RxART is proud to have worked with Nina Chanel Abney on a project for the Pediatric Ambulatory Clinic at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. Abney has created vibrant designs that will provide a positive distraction for patients and their families as they wait to receive critical care. RxART worked with Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA) to morph Abney’s joyful imagery into wall coverings and vinyl that are installed in the waiting areas, windows, and hallways of the clinic.
NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst provides services for approximately 15,000 pediatric and adolescent patients annually. Founded in 1832, the hospital is located in the most ethnically diverse community in the world (Elmhurst, Queens) with immigrants from 112 different countries. It is designated as a “Baby-Friendly” Hospital by Baby-Friendly USA, an initiative of the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund. Over 2,200 babies are delivered at the hospital each year. The hospital has 44 maternity beds, 30 neonatal beds, and 22 Pediatric beds.
