Three cheers for RxArt, the organization that curates contemporary art installations in hospital settings! Their mission is a madly creative and altruistic one that we can get behind 100%. One of the many delightful projects spearheaded by the group is Between the Lines: A Coloring Book of Drawings by Contemporary Artists.

It’s a genius idea: fifty artists (from Takashi Murakami to R. Crumb to Vito Acconci) contribute black-and-white line drawings to a coloring book which is distributed to children in the hospitals where RxArt installs work. Others (like us) can get in on the action by ordering a copy here; there’s also a Volume 2 which features Ed Ruscha, Nate Lowmanand Raymond Pettibon, among others. Do you enjoy having fun while doing good? Who wouldn’t? Get your Crayolas in order.
