Operations Manager

RxArt seeks to fill the position of Operations Manager. As a part of a small yet powerful team, this is a great opportunity for a dynamic, ambitious individual who has the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous assignments under tight deadlines, set priorities, and work independently as well as collaboratively. This individual will play a key role in continuing to grow RxArt, while gaining considerable skills, experience, and knowledge in the nonprofit world.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • – Oversee general organization and productivity of the office: managing meeting preparation, inventory of supplies, cleanliness and overall calendar scheduling
  • – Maintain important records and files and assist with expense reports and budgeting
  • – Manage, execute, and grow product sales
  • – Oversee creation and production of biennial coloring book
  • – Manage distribution of book donations to hospitals
  • – Maintain website, newsletter and social media content timeline across platforms
  • – Maintain art collection records as well as storage of artwork
  • – Prepare and update marketing packages and PowerPoint presentations
  • – Solicit and document feedback from healthcare partners on RxArt projects
  • – Oversee hiring and supervision of unpaid interns and volunteers
  • – Assist with all major events

REQUIREMENTS

  • – Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • – Demonstrated discretion, pro-activeness, and follow-through
  • – 3-5+ years of experience in similar role, preferably at a nonprofit/ arts organization
  • – Knowledge of contemporary art
  • – Superior written and verbal skills
  • – Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and knowledge of databases (e.g.  Salesforce, MailChimp, etc.)
  • – Basic IT skills
  • – BA (required), MA in Arts Administration (a plus)

Winter/Spring 2018 Internships Available:
Social Media/Marketing/Design
– Development/Fundraising

RxArt is seeking two highly motivated individuals for our Winter/Spring 2018 Internships: one for Social Media & Marketing and one for Development. RxArt is a NYC-based national nonprofit organization whose mission is to help children heal through the extraordinary power of visual art. We commission exceptional contemporary artists to transform sterile healthcare facilities into engaging and inspiring environments. In the past 17 years, RxArt has completed over 40 projects with over 60 artists, including Dan Colen, Urs Fischer, Jeff Koons, Rob Pruitt, and Laura Owens.

RxArt interns play a big role on our small, yet powerful team. We are passionate about what we do and seek interns who will be too. It is essential that interns are effective communicators who are adaptable to an array of responsibilities. RxArt Internships offer the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic nonprofit arts organization, developing essential skills in arts administration.

Social Media, Marketing, and Design Intern:
– Must be knowledgeable about social media channels & audience development
– Help develop social media strategy & maintain a calendar of brand related content
– Facilitate production of in-house marketing material, including design & assembly
– Track & report on Google Analytics to monitor and improve visibility online
– Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and InDesign), Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, MailChimp, Google Adwords and Analytics
– Knowledge of WordPress preferred

Development/Fundraising Intern:
– Maintain database: Contact and gift entry, list & report pulling, content cleaning
– Conduct detailed donor prospect research
– Assist with donor mailings: Acknowledgments, annual appeals, newsletters, invites
– Provide support for cultivation events
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel sorting & formulas, Word mail merges; Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM software; MailChimp and Gmail list management and Eblast functions

Additional Qualifications:
– Strong organizational, writing, and research skills
– Interest in and knowledge of contemporary art
– Ability to be proactive and work collaboratively

Dates:
The start date is early January 2018 unless available earlier. Interns must be able to commit to a schedule of at least 3 days per week for a minimum 3-month period. Our hours are Monday–Friday, 10 am – 6 pm. Internship is unpaid, but qualifies for academic credit.
