Friends of RxArt Studio Visit: William Wegman

On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, Friends of RxArt members were invited to the NYC studio of William Wegman for an evening reception. Friends of RxArt had a behind-the-scenes look at how Wegman creates his iconic photographs.

Wegman has been producing work since the late 1960s. In 1970, he began composing images of his first Weimaraner, May Ray, a technique he has continued throughout his career. Wegman has been a pioneer in conceptual film and created videos works for Saturday Night Live, Nickelodeon, the band New Order and more. His work has been exhibited at institutions internationally. The Friends of RxArt Studio Visit coincides with Wegman’s exhibition at Sperone Westwater – on view through October 28 – and precedes his upcoming RxArt Project for Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI.

Friend of RxArt members attend studio visits, annual events, including the RxArt PARTY, and more throughout the year. To join, contact 212-260-8797 or Megan_Skidmore@rxart.net.
