AVAF’s vibrant artwork “Antes Vulgar Agora Fino” was installed at the cafeteria of The Special Children’s Center, Lakewood, NJ in October, 2014. The Special Children’s Center provides round-the-clock, year-round respite services to children with disabilities and life limiting conditions. They offer individualized programs that enable every child to overcome challenges and lead fuller, more productive lives.

The exuberant colors and patterns expand the limits imposed by the walls, altering the entire environment. The converted cafeteria provides patients with a space that engages their intellect and encourages social interactions and arouses creativity. This project was made possible through the generosity of RxART board member Glori Cohen.

RxART is delighted to collaborate with AVAF on a project that supports its mission of transforming pediatric hospital facilities into comforting and engaging spaces through site specific installations by contemporary artists.
