RxART is proud to have worked with Rashid Johnson again on a new project for the University of Minnesota’s Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB). Johnson brought his Seascape imagery to MIDB’s MRI Suite. Approximately 150 patients participated in 11 different studies conducted in the MRI Suite since its opening in July, 2022. The hospital anticipates that the number of participants will increase considerably, with over 1,000 scans completed yearly, as more studies get off the ground.

MIDB provides patients a convenient, welcoming, and calm environment and aims to accelerate discovery and improve brain health through dynamic research, compassionate and creative care models, policy initiatives, and community integration. The MRI Suite houses MIDB’s Neuroimaging Hub, a unit dedicated to a variety of brain research and cutting edge translational applications for MRI.

MIDB is a dream collaborator and we are honored to be associated with their important research in advancing brain health from the earliest stages of development, and in reducing the anxiety children often feel when getting an MRI.  We are so proud to have contributed the RxART touch to their MRI suite.

Every RxART project is produced at no cost to the hospital and provides each commissioned artist with an honorarium. RxART is deeply grateful to the Eliza Moore fund for generously sponsoring this project. For more information on supporting RxART’s projects, please get in touch with Lindsey Cash: lindsey_cash@rxart.net or visit our Donate Page.
