In 2010, RxART was honored to work with Jeff Koons on the organization’s first fully immersive installation. Koons created a total environment for the CT Scan Suite at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL, transforming the Philips CT scanner and the surrounding walls with his iconic pop imagery of the Balloon Dog and Monkeys, Hanging Heart, and Donkey. What was once an often frightening experience for young patients is now a playfully engaging and awe-inspiring way to go through their scans.
