Alessandro Teoldi
Alessandro Teoldi

Alessandro Teoldi was born in 1987 in Milan, Italy. In 2013, he received an MFA from ICP-Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Teoldi’s practice encompasses textile, sculpture, drawing and installation to explore connection, memory, intimacy and queer desire. For his works, the artist fastidiously sources a variety of easily accessible materials, including airline blankets, stones and cement. Teoldi’s resourcefulness allows his work to engage with the different histories of these found objects—while simultaneously transforming the sourced materials into new narratives. You can see how he translated his style into a coloring book page in Between the Lines: An RxART Coloring Book by Contemporary Artists – Volume 9.

Exhibitions of Teoldi’s work have taken place at: Flag Art Foundation in New York City; Magazzino Italian Art in New York City; Marinaro in New York City; 11 Rivington in New York City; Klaus Von Nichtssagend Gallery in New York City; Suprainfinit Gallery in Bucharest, Romania; Galerie Derouillon in Paris, France; Viasaterna in Milan, Italy; Assembly Room in New York City; The Camera Club of New York at Baxter St in New York City; The Cabin in Los Angeles, California; and the International Center of Photography in New York City; among others.
