Andrew Brischler (b. 1987, Long Island, New York) creates paintings and drawings that explore his queer identity through his relationship to American popular culture. Words, phrases, and graphic motifs are culled from a wide array of sources from Brischler’s personal history and are rendered in paint, marker, and colored pencil.
Brischler was featured in a solo show Andrew Brischler: Monster at Gavlak gallery (2021) and his work was shown in Gavlak’s booth at The Armory show (2021 & 2020)). Other group shows that his work has been featured in include Anxiety 2, HVW8 Art + Design Gallery (2021) and Drawn Together Again, the FLAG Art Foundation (2019). Brischler is featured in Between The Lines: An RxART Coloring Book by Contemporary Artists – Volume 6.
