MeeNa Park

MeeNa Park (b. 1973, Seoul, South Korea) became fascinated by coloring books while in graduate school at Hunter College in New York City. She explained that she “wanted to restart thinking about art” and saw the coloring book as a way to “go back to the basics.” She began producing hundreds of coloring book drawings and later paintings informed by the bold, graphic lines of the diagrams that were the introduction to art for many of us.

Recent solo exhibitions of Park’s work have been held at Over the Influence Gallery, Hong Kong (2019); Gueongju Arts Center, Korea (2017); Audio Visual Pavilion, Seoul, Korea (2016); Kukje Gallery, South Korea (2013); and Doosan Gallery, NY (2012), among others. She received her MFA in Painting from Hunter College in New York in 1999 and her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1997. Park is featured in Between the Lines: An RxART Coloring Book by Contemporary Artists – Volume 8.
