Emma Kohlmann (b. 1989, the Bronx, NY) works in ink washes and watercolors to create a repertoire of enigmatic figures, lush plants, and strange fauna. Her work has extended beyond gallery walls into clothing, artist books, zines, album art, and even illustrations for publications such as Vogue.
The most recent solo exhibitions of Kohlmann’s work have been shown at Jack Hanley Gallery, East Hampton, NY (2021); Tennis Elbow at The Journal, Brooklyn (2021); Chandran Gallery, San Francisco, CA (2020); Nevven Gallery, Göteborg Sweden (2019); and V1 Gallery, Copenhagen, Denmark (2019), among others.
