Ronald Hall

Ronald Hall (b. 1967, Pittsburgh, PA) is a painter whose narrative work teeters between fiction and nonfiction, history and fairytale, as a means of challenging dominant conceptions of the African American experience. The characters that populate Hall’s paintings exist in eerie spaces such as distorted interiors, cobblestone roads, and pristine plantations —often a mixture of historical and contemporary dreamscapes.

Hall has been featured in solo exhibitions at Duane Thomas Gallery, New York (2020); Basile Gallery, Indiana, IN (2018); Gallery 4 Culture, Seattle, WA (2014); and Gallery 110, Seattle, WA (2012), among others. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Hall’s work is featured in Between the Lines: An RxART Coloring Book by Contemporary Artists – Volume 8. Click here to download and color his spread.
