Atsushi Kaga

Atsushi Kaga (b. 1978, Tokyo, Japan) has created an oeuvre populated by a menagerie of characters including a playful bunny, a pirate cat, Michael Jackson’s skull, and body-less panda heads. These characters explore themes of sexuality, death, money, and everyday drama across Kaga’s paintings, animations, and sculptures.

Kaga’s work has been features in recent solo exhibitions at mother’s tankstation, Dublin, Ireland (2020); MAHO KUBOTA GALLERY, Tokyo, Japan (2018); and Jack Hanley Gallery, New York (2015), among others.
