Claire Tabouret

Claire Tabouret (b. 1981, France) is a Los Angeles-based artist who creates expressive and vibrant portrait paintings often drawn from magazines and history books. Her color palette is unique — ranging from neon to earth tones — emphasizing how portraiture exists somewhere between the natural and artificial.

Tabouret has been featured in recent solo exhibitions at Perrotin, Tokyo, Japan (2020); Musée des Beaux-Arts, Rouen, France (2020); Perrotin, Seoul, South Korea (2020); Almine Rech Gallery, London England (2019); and HAB Galerie, Nantes, France (2019), among others. Her work is held in the public collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; the Dallas Museum of Art, TX; Perez Art Museum, Miami, FL; and the Yuz Museum, Shanghai, China, among others. Tabouret lives and works in Los Angeles. Tabouret is featured in Between the Lines: An RxART Coloring Book by Contemporary Artists – Volume 8.
